Has a hammer ever let you down?
I've always felt that my fellow West Ham fans are the right sort of people and there are many examples of fans here giving a hand to other fans, true comradeship.

We moved into an place down here in Dorset and it needed a bit of work, we got a guy in to put down laminate flooring. I'm rushed off my feet and thought let's get someone in, simple.

The guy turns out to be a hammer, brilliant.
Long story short job looks good but soon is revealed to be shitty, even I could've done better and now wish I had (although I'd have been much slower for sure).
Now have to repair whole floor and relay or pay someone else to do it.
Don't really want the guy back as it's shit once it'll be shit again and not worth the squeeze.
I was a bit gutted as he seemed straight up.

Am I being a bit precious? Obviously West Ham fans have as much right to be incompetent as anyone else.

Have you ever had a fellow hammer let you down?

Agree with Russ,

If you are naive enough to think just because a trades person supports the same football team as you then they are not going to either do a bad job or rip you off then you deserve the outcome. As I said before, use traders on your council's local trusted trader scheme, if someone recommends a trades person ask to see the work they did for them, its no guarantee you will get the same but it will give you an idea.

Are you 12 years old or just very naive?

Re: Has a hammer ever let you down?
I don't think this has anything to do with football allegiance.

It's just business. He is shit at what he does and you are now left screwed.

That's life.

Re: Has a hammer ever let you down?
Both supporting West Ham is obviously a commonality, like growing up in the same area, having been to the same school, having a friend in common, etc

For ordinary, decent people that means the start of a bond.

However, the world is full of manipulative cunts. And a manipulative cunt will use any commonality to make you let down your guard and shaft you.

Re: Has a hammer ever let you down?
Countless times. Loads of my family and several of my friends are Hammers and most at one time or another have let me down in some way.

Also just because someone else supports West Ham by no means (sadly) precludes them from being a cunt. It is quite fascinating how there is a perceived kinship between two people who support the same football team.

"Should I mess up his check atrade reviews."

Leave him a bad review for a bad job, no need to go further than that.

My electrician is Chelsea. It has crossed my mind that he could quite easily kill me if he wished.

BOSCH PROFESSIONAL HAMMER 500g (17oz )
This is a great hammer iv'e used it a few times now, its got a soft grip handle which feels good when its in your hand and they say its got low vibration when striking I'm no expert but it does seem minimal, and the shaft and head are made of one piece (Presumably for balance) all in all a nice hammer, we all know bosch are the masters of quality products but the only small issue I have is, its made in china (oh dear).

This is why it only gets 4 stars.

Only time will tell, but it seems well made. (BOSCH IF IT FALLS APART I HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE) in the meantime I need to get the labels off the hammer, and get cracking on with my jobs.

Re: Has a hammer ever let you down?
I bought one of those claw ones with the intention to kill the wife. As I went to do the deed the hammerhead flew off and smashed the goldfish bowl, killing little DGee.

The missus then snatched the handle from me and rammed it up my anus (I was naked at the time, didn't need blood splatter on my clothes) with considerable force.

I'm never going to buy a hammer from Poundland again.

Who you support isn't really relevant as to how good you are at your job.

Re: Has a hammer ever let you down?
If you are an arsehole, you are an arsehole regardless of who you supported. I had the misfortune to recently be in the company of some of most pig ignorant racist cunts I've come across. All West Ham. I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

Many quality tradesman work off recommendations and trusted trader schemes. Googling one then getting them in cause they were the cheapest is not always the best approach.

Re: Has a hammer ever let you down?
Nothing to do with what team you support or where your from in GB you have to take everyone as they come and judge their character most West ham fans are just people to talk football with and have a common interest oh and to congregate with at the big bowl that is about it, because just like on here if you converse enough within minutes you will soon find you are actually not alike at all in fact alas apart from supporting the same team you would not even look in each others direction normally.
Humans have faults we were human before becoming Hammers.
